During the Coronavirus pandemic the AlAjr team faced a challenge. They were unable to raise funds using their usual community outreach methods due to social distancing. However, AlAjr had previously collected over 100k email addresses which provided them with some options to move their fundraising efforts online if they had the right platform to do so.
The AlAjr team contacted RevGlue to discuss their problem in order to search for possible solutions. There were five key challenges identified during the initial review meetings.
AlAjr did not have the internal resources, skillset or a suitable platform which would allow them to reach out to their 100k database in order to re-engage them.
AlAjr wanted a way to work with the local community and involve local stores to donate regularly for AlAjr charitable causes.
AlAjr wanted to combine their efforts with other like minded charity organisations to share fundraising resources during a very difficult time
AlAjr wanted to promote a suitable platform on all devices (including web and mobile) to make it easily accessible for their loyal contributors.
AlAjr wanted to make sure that any platform they offer would offer value to all participating stakeholders in one way or another.
The AlAjr team contacted RevGlue to discuss their problem in order to search for possible solutions. There were five key challenges identified during the initial review meetings.
We designed and developed a cashback website to allow the AlAjr user database to fulfill their daily shopping needs via this platform. The cashback site includes 1000s of retailers and allows users to earn cashback for each successful sale they make.
This cashback can then be paid in the user's Bank or Paypal account as they prefer, or they have the option to donate it to one of the AlAjr charities.
Retailers provide commissions in return for sales. This solution gives 50% of the commission back to the user as cashback which they can either cash out themselves or donate.
The platform also provides a solution whereby AlAjr can offer the same to other charities so they can set up a cashback instance on their own websites that would follow the same design pattern but share the tech resources.
A local store module provides the ability for AlAjr to work with local stores in their community. It allows them to bring these stores or services on board and offer them sales and leads by promoting them in a local environment. In return these local stores will pay the commission to AlAjr for successful sales. Again, half of this commission is then offered to the users as cashback.
The solution also provides hybrid mobile apps in iOS and Android so that users can download the app and shop via the AlAjr website on the go. Additionally, we provided Chrome, Safari and Firefox browser extensions that ensure the user will never miss a cashback opportunity even when they are shopping through the search engines.

The AlAjr cashback responsive website offers the facility to users to register for free in five minutes and start their online shopping and earning cashback on each sale. The website UI was specifically designed based on the AlAjr brand requirements to match their charity brand requirements. Each website page UI was designed and presented to the AlAjr team to confirm before the development phase was initiated.
RevGlue was responsible for all design, development and integration with the affiliate networks for cashbacks, with the payment processors and hosting of the AlAjr cashback website. RevGlue completed the project in eights weeks to launch the website project on Eid-ul-Fitr for the UK cashback users.
The AlAjr cashback project is free to use for anyone who wishes to earn cashback on their online shopping. The core AlAjr customer base are Asians and Arabs from the UK who wish to donate to the AlAjr charity. However, the users are not bound to transfer their cashback to the AlAjr charity. Users may request the cashout to be paid in their Bank or PaPal account or even transfer it to other participating charities.
The AlAjr cashback project offers 3k leading UK brands and stores for online shoppers with the highest cashback offers.
AlAjr cashback website has built a module to be part of the cashback website that allows local stores such as grocery stores, lawyers, barbers and hairdressers who may or may not have an ecommerce website but are looking for quality sales and leads. These stores may not offer affiliate program via a traditional affiliate network route and their product offer or service could be limited to the local area such as a local pizza shop.
RevGlue provided two types of local stores functionality to AlAjr team so they can work with the local stores.
Local stores with ecommerce websites such as a grocery store, a solicitor's website with lead generation form or a restaurant shop to take online orders. These stores may not have an affiliate program but still can work with AlAjr website to offer their services and products. AlAjr can send them customers and these stores provide a commission on each successful sale or a lead. This commission is then shared with the user as cashback.
Local stores without a website such as a local barber in Manchester could also offer his services on AlAjr. The users could request a coupon code from AlAjr website, goes to the local shop to purchase the product or service and the shop owner will redeem the coupon when the user presents to him on his mobile. On confirming the redeem coupon functionality by the shop owner, the cashback is provided to the user.
In both cases, the local shop or business owners are invoices once a month for all the successful sales and lead provided by AlAjr. This module allows users to search a local service or product based on multiple filters such as cities and postcodes. More features are currently being added to this module.
RevGlue provided AlAjr mobile users with iOS and Android apps so they can easily shop via AlAjr cashback app at any time from their mobile phones. The user experience on the mobile apps is similar to the website that makes it easy for the users to shop and earn cashback.
AlAjr users are also provided with the Chrome, Firefox and Safari browser extensions. The aim of the cashback extension is simple that the cashback user never misses a cashback even if they go directly to the store website or by searching for a store in a search engine. The extension provides them a prompt message that you are registered on AlAjr cashback website, and this store is part of the AlAjr cashback offer so the user can opt-in for the cashback offers.
AlAjr wanted to work with other charities in the UK and share the cashback platform with them. This will allow other charities to offer the cashback website to their users and with the collective cashback power, they can build a strong cashback project that allow cashback users to donate their cashback to any charity.
RevGlue build the partner panel for AlAjr so now they can share their website instance with other charities within 10 minutes and the dynamic system manages everything under one panel.
The users from the other charities will see the cashback website as part of their charity with their branding options. This system now allows AlAjr to build strong relations with other UK charities as partners that helps use all their users to earn cashback on their online shopping. The technology, cashback offers, hosting, customer enquires are all managed by RevGlue for AlAjr and all its participating partners.
